Heating, cooling, and process waters are essential in modern commerce. Effluent and air pollution regulations restrict discharges. New products and technology are being developed to meet regulations and to improve water quality and efficiency. Environmentally friendly water treatment programs are coming into use. Outsourcing of cooling, boiler, and wastewater operations is being considered.
